1/5/2024 0 Comments 1985 rx7 jdm![]() ![]() A/C is reported to blow cold, and though definitely cool to see in a US car, those rear seats will be all but useless except for very young kids. Mods include keyless entry, simple Porsche RS-style Techno Toy door trim panels with fabric pull straps, a Momo shift knob, custom gray leather shift and E-brake boots, and a modern USB-equipped Kenwood head unit. The rear seat is another Japanese market item, and though matching fronts are included, the (likely original) pair currently fitted look pretty similar, and appear to be in good shape too. Note also the RE-Amemiya decals on the rear side glass. Built as a sort of period JDM style hot rod tribute, it’s been fitted with home market Savanna badges, along with (always contentious) fender mirrors, IMSA-style airdam, rear wing, yellow Hella fogs, and Watanabe/Minilite/Panasport replica Rota wheels wrapped with new Yokohamas. Paint is fresh and the color is described as OEM RX-8 Black Cherry Mica–it suits the car well, and despite some orange peel, it seems to be of a good five-footer quality. Power comes from a rebuilt, street-ported 13B, and overall the car presents nicely in photos. Find it here on eBay in Virginia Beach, Virginia with reserve not met. This 1985 Mazda RX-7 GSL-SE (VIN JM1FB3329F0866713) is a top spec, final year first-gen example that’s received both mechanical and several period-correct JDM-inspired appearance modifications. ![]()
